The Constitution of the United States of America includes The Bill of Rights. The following is the First Amendment, quoted verbatim:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, OR OF THE PRESS; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES.

Most American’s are familiar with those words, but too often it appears our elected officials are not. McShame frequently chastises those whose views differ from his own. Yet, I wish I’d seen him smile on rare occasions when a voice of reason rather than rhetoric is agreeable to him. Unfortunately, I really cannot recall such an instance. You see in my world, the Senator is entitled to speak his mind & vote accordingly. But, the reason I refer to him disparagingly as “McShame” is because of his record, which I shall cite as documented factual information!!!

It’s 2008 & newly elected Pres. Barack Obama is sworn in as Oval Office resident & Commander-In-Chief of all U.S. military forces, along with just about every Federal initiative. At that very moment, the U.S. economy was teetering on the verge of collapse, major industries had died or seemed destined to, we were bogged down by two wars, (quagmires), our public education system that had been the envy of the world now lagged behind more than fifteen other nations, our roads, tunnels and bridges were crumbling, high unemployment helped define our financial crisis, State & local governments couldn’t meet their obligations, and health care costs had skyrocketed out of control.

To all of this dire scenario spelling a possible end to the glory of America’s greatness, (R) Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky had this to say, “My number one priority as Minority Leader of the United States Senate is to make certain that Obama is a one-term President!”

For the next four years of POTUS first term, McShame used his power to block legislative actions as long as they were formulated by Democrats, or even a Republican working with a Democrat. He was smug, caustic and cynical in his remarks regarding both POTUS & Democratic Party initiatives.

It is vital to understand the rules of the U.S. Senate. To pass legislation in the Senate, a bill must have the support of no less than two-thirds of the total votes registered. No member is more keenly aware that (R) votes are thus required to pass anything, than Mr. No! The Senate also has a rule called a filibuster. This is simply when even a single member takes the floor & speaks endlessly on any topic whatsoever, for as long as they may remain physically capable of doing so. It is within the legal rules of the U.S. Senate for any member to block a vote on any pending legislation in this way.

McShame & his cohorts have employed this strategy more often than ever before in the entire history of the U.S. Senate and this great nation! Today, it has gone so far as the mere, “threat” of an impending filibuster brings any possible progress in the Senate to a screeching halt. Mr. No to everything has in effect elevated himself to the status of a one-man Senate. Again, & again, & yet again blocking a vote from taking place on any legislation he deems unwarranted – which basically is, everything.

Fact, the U.S. Senate until 2013 had not passed a single budget in four years. Fact, McShame blocked renewal of the Assault Weapons Ban. Another Fact, he is anti-gay marriage which defines him as against equality for all, believes more guns make us safer, is against providing needed resources for education. He is pro-life, which means he is in favor of victims of incest & rape being forced by government to ultimately giving birth to that, (which by accurate scientific & medical definition of a fetus), was not even yet human, but totally contradicts himself by insisting that this same government should not intrude into the personal private lives of U.S. citizens.

All of this information is part of the public record, period. That is why I call him – Mr. No, no, no, McShame!
